Antrim and Newtownabbey, in numbers

Sources

Antrim and Newtownabbey council area. Every figure carries its own date.

People, crime and public money: sources

Annual population estimates by age, 1991–2025

ONS, NRS and NISRA via Nomis

Official source →
Method and retained evidence

Published annual mid-year population estimates, both sexes. Exact requested ONS area code; source geography vintage retained. Latest revised source series is used throughout; no years are interpolated and no ward values are inferred.

Open Government Licence v3.0

The download includes 3 source response receipts, with dates and content hashes.

2011 Census ethnic group — KS201UK

UK census offices via Nomis

Official source →
Method and retained evidence

Direct official census counts for the exact requested geography code. Native table category labels retained. Shares use this table’s own total; privacy-adjusted cells may not sum exactly to that total. The 2011 UK table retains its own category structure, including a separate Traveller category. It is not automatically comparable with later national census categories or modern district boundaries.

Open Government Licence v3.0

The download includes 3 source response receipts, with dates and content hashes.

Census 2021 MS-B01: Ethnic group

Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency

Official source →
Method and retained evidence

First count table only in the LGD and NI worksheets. Shares calculated using All usual residents in the same row. Northern Ireland’s 2021 native ethnicity categories are retained. Counts are for current Local Government Districts, not reconstructed historical districts. Different tables can differ slightly because of census privacy protection.

Open Government Licence v3.0

The download includes 1 source response receipt, with dates and content hashes.

Disposable household income, 1997–2024

Office for National Statistics

Official source →
Method and retained evidence

Published ONS table values from one 1997–2024 release, matched by exact source geography code. Table3 per-person values are retained, not recalculated from rounded totals. Source country/region references are the official published totals, not averages of selected councils.

Open Government Licence v3.0

The download includes 4 source response receipts, with dates and content hashes.

GDP deflators, September 2026 national accounts

HM Treasury

Official source →
Method and retained evidence

Official downloadable statistical returns; retained raw bytes verified by SHA-256.

Open Government Licence v3.0

The download includes 1 source response receipt, with dates and content hashes.

Local Government Auditor’s Report 2026, Appendix 4: council expenditure

Northern Ireland Audit Office

Official source →
Method and retained evidence

Expenditure column from the lower table on printed page48, in cash £million. This is the auditor’s council comparison; it is not net spending after service income, and is not all public spending in Northern Ireland.

The download includes 3 source response receipts, with dates and content hashes.

How the evidence is used

Do not sum a direct county record and its member district records.

Every lower-tier authority belongs to exactly one county/equivalent edition.

Country comparators use direct official country totals with matching definitions and dates.

Do not average percentages, prices or rents across member councils.

A metropolitan county, ceremonial county or combined authority is not interchangeable with its current councils.

Boundary vintage is attached to every authority and ward; historical series need compatible definitions or explicit breaks.

Scottish Census 2022 and recorded crime are separate systems; do not invent Police.uk ward data.

Existing city hostnames and brands remain intact; a distinct area slug resolves collisions.

Geography-checked does not certify data, council project reviews, branding or publication.

County editions use current upper-tier or equivalent council footprints from the reviewed registry, not historic/ceremonial counties.

Each lower-tier authority and ward is stored once. Upper-tier counties link to constituent districts; they never duplicate ward arrays or include independent unitary authorities.

Published official county estimates are used directly. Derived percentages require complete matching numerators and denominators; prices, medians and district percentages are never averaged.

Country references are actual published England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland totals, with incompatible definitions kept separate.

Retained snapshots keep original observation and request dates; reuse and a new build date do not prove freshness.

Police publication issues suppress dependent totals and changes. Scottish recorded crime is separate from mapped Police.uk records.

Source checking and automated tests are not independent analytical assurance or AQuA certification.

Local plans and projects are selected reviewed examples, not an exhaustive council programme. Proposed actions are analysis, not approved funding or promised delivery dates.

The county/equivalent area, its member councils and wards are separate levels. A direct county total is never added to its own districts.

Statistical records retain their original retrieval dates. A new website release does not mean every source has been freshly collected.

Checks follow the government’s AQuA Book principles: define the question, retain sources, check calculations and explain uncertainty. Automated checks do not constitute independent assurance or certification.

census: Seven NISRA Census 2021 measures; household deprivation is not mapped to an equivalent table in this release.

crime: 40 wards; 24 retrieved archive months, 2024-09 to 2026-08.

crimePublication: No global no-crime-data or latest-month missing-crime notice was identified for this authority’s force in the checked changelog. This does not guarantee complete reporting.

crimeReporting: These are retrieved mapped records, not a guarantee of complete crime reporting. Approximate locations and unmapped incidents limit comparisons.

crimeTrend: No unresolved missing-crime notice or separately reviewed source break was identified within these requested months. This is not a guarantee of complete reporting.

housePrice: 259 published monthly observations, 2005-01 to 2026-07.

housing: Official UKHPI home prices; same-authority private rents unavailable.

monthlyRent: No same-geography average monthly private rent in this official feed. Broader rental-market areas are not substituted.

population: 25 of 30 requested annual observations available; latest 2025.

wards: All 40 current official wards included.

These are selected council-sourced projects, not the whole council programme.

The suggested action sequences are analysis, not approved budgets or delivery commitments.

Project locations have not been verified as ward impact footprints. Empty cost or funding fields mean no reviewed figure, not zero.

Area boundaries and councils

Whole current council area, which may include several towns, rural areas or islands. It is not necessarily the named city settlement.
